Najmul Shanto-led Bangladesh secured a historic-series win against Shan Masood?s Pakistan on Tuesday, while Ollie Pope?s England reigned supreme against Sri Lanka on Sunday, leading to a lot of changes in the overall points table of ICC?s World Test Championship 2023-25.

In Pakistan?s Rawalpindi, the Bangla tigers celebrated a memorable series-victory as they chased down the target of 185 runs by six wickets and secured their first ever bilateral test-series win over the Shaheens. This was also the first Test Series victory of Bangladesh away from home since 2021 when they triumphed over Zimbabwe.

The Lord?s test match between Sri Lanka and England ended in four days, with the home side securing an easy victory by a margin of 190 runs.

Batting-first, the Three lions posted 427 runs on the board, with all-rounder Gus Atkinson bringing up his century by batting at number eight. Then they inflicted an all-out on the visitors for 196 runs and secured an easy lead of 231 runs. The home side then set a difficult target of 482 runs, which proved to be too much for the Asian team.

Ollie Pope and his men have secured an unattainable lead of 2-0 in the three match series, with the third and final match set to take place from the 6th of September onwards at the iconic Oval Stadium.

These match-results have created a lot of changes in the overall standings of WTC with Bangladesh moving to the fourth position, going past England, and now trail behind New Zealand, Australia and India. Their PCT of 45.83% is higher than England (45.0%).

Pakistan on the other hand continue to remain at the eighth place in the overall standings, above the Windies. The Green Shirt?s PCT has gone below 20%, currently 19.05% next to their name, after the series loss against Bangladesh.

The PCT of Ollie Pope?s England has seen improvisations, increasing to 45.0% from 41.07% following their win against Sri Lanka in the second test match. They are sitting at the fifth position, one spot over the island nation?s team.
