Virat Kohli defends team India for DRS controversy outburst in the 3rd test match against South Africa.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli after the test series loss against South Africa defended his side?s verbal attack on the broadcaster SuperSport for the DRS controversy. The Indian players got carried away and opted to charge upon the broadcaster?s Hawk-eye prediction which saved rival skipper, Dean Elgar, from the plumb LBW on the third day of the third test match.

Owing to the contentious DRS, Kohli and co came closer to the stump mic and vented out their frustration. On day three, following the incident, India lost its cool and conceded quick runs to push South Africa closer to their target. As a result, South Africa won the test match convincingly and also clinched the series by thumping team India by 2-1.

Kohli targetted back at the outsiders, saying, people outside don?t know what exactly happened.

"I have no comment to make on either. We understood what happened on the field and people on the outside don't know exact details of what goes on on the field," he said in a post-match presentation after the third test loss.

"...for me to try and justify what we did on the field and say we got carried away is all...," he didn't finish the sentence.

"If we had gotten charged up and picked up three wickets there, that would have been probably the moment that changed the game," he added.

Interestingly, team India is also reported to have survived the formal charges from ICC for their DRS outburst. A report in ESPNcricinfo confirms that the match officials didn?t file any charges against the Indian team.

The officials after the match had a chat with Indian management. The Indian skipper was also the part of the conversation and the officials seemed to be convinced for not charging any complaint against the visitors for their blazing behaviour, accusing the broadcaster SuperSport of favouring the home side.

India once again failed to conquer the final frontier as South Africa clinched the Freedom test series by 2-1. The two sides will now compete in the scheduled three matches ODI series, which begins on January 19th.
