Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Wednesday indicated an overhaul of the Test squad after the ICC World Test Championship final defeat against New Zealand in the Hampshire Bowl Southampton.

India were toppled by the kiwis in the inaugural ICC World Test Championship final by eight wickets on day six.

Kohli majorly pointed out to bring in some good players in the squad who can take up the responsibility on their shoulders in whichever situation they are just like India?s white-ball squads. Team India likes to play deep in the limited-overs format with more match winners.

The skipper said that he may bring up the right people with the right mindset in the test team to perform. He further expressed his displeasure with a couple of players for not showing enough intent to put pressure on the opposition which backfired the Indian unit.

In the WTC final against the kiwis, the Indian batting lineup once again collapsed against the swing bowlers of New Zealand. India were bundled out for 217 runs in the first innings while scoring 170 in the second innings.

?We will continue to reassess and continue to have conversations around what are things required to strengthen our side and not follow or fall prey to certain patterns,? said Virat Kohli.

Indian modern day wall, Cheteshwar Pujara scored 54 balls 8 in the first innings while 80 balls 15 in the second innings.

?We will not wait for a year or so and have to plan ahead. If you see our white-ball team now, we have great depth and guys are ready and confident. The same thing needs to be done here in Test Cricket,? added the senior cricketer.

He also focused on finding multiple ways to score runs in the longest format, which India lacked in the last test. The team managed to score 217 and 170 in the two innings that gave the kiwis an added advantage to put India under pressure.

?We definitely need to work out better plans on understanding how to score runs. We have to stay in sync with the momentum of the game and not let the game drift away much. I don?t think there are any technical difficulties as such.?

Kohli said that the batters need to score good runs and put the opposition bowling unit under pressure. He pointed out that unless it is overcast like day one, batters should keep the runs flowing and not stay idle at the crease and hoping not to get out.
