Virat Kohli is more skilful than me, says BCCI Prez Sourav Ganguly: After ending his century draught with a blazing ton against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022, Virat Kohli has earned high praise from BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, who reckons that Virat is more skilful than him.

Both Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli play an aggressive brand of cricket, however, if we look at the skill set, Kohli surpasses Ganguly.

"I don't think that (captaincy) should be the comparison... The comparison should be in terms of skill as a player. I think he is more skilful than I'm," Ganguly said of Kohli in the 'Ranveer Show' on YouTube.

Kohli brought up his long-awaited 71st ton in India?s last match in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 against Afghanistan. After a wait of 1020 days, the Indian batting maestro slammed unbeaten 122 runs in 61 deliveries and announced his comeback in some style.

Showering more praise, Ganguly said that Kohli would go on to play more cricket matches than he played. Ganguly has featured in 112 Tests, and 311 ODIs besides playing 77 T20Is during his career that spanned from 1992-2008.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli?s present cricket appearances stand at 102* in Tests, and 262* in ODIs while he recently completed 100 matches in the T20Is (102*).

"We played in different generations, and we played a lot of cricket. I played in my generation, and he will continue playing, probably playing more games than I did,? he said.

"Cricket has become a bit more hectic, busy. COVID for the last two seasons has made it even tougher because of quarantine and all that went on. But the rewards are good."

When asked whether he forwarded any advice to Virat Kohli during his tough phase, Ganguly replied that he doesn?t get to see Indian cricketers often due to hectic scheduling.

"I don't get to see them. The poor guys travel a lot."
