Royal Challengers Bengaluru head coach Andy Flower opened up about Virat Kohli taking over the captaincy of the team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He said that fans need to wait for the outcome as, so far, no communication has happened within the team.

Virat Kohli has been in the news of late because there have been various reports that claimed that he might lead the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025. This is because the franchise didn't bid for any player in the auction who would take over the leadership of the team.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru were amongst one of the teams who had a successful campaign. They brought in some good players in the league, and it's fair to say with the kind of team they have, they will be one of the favourites to win the title next year.

The reports have claimed that RCB might talk with Virat Kohli to take over the leadership. The batter stepped down as the leader of the team but it's fair to say that he was one of the best leaders of the team, having captained the team from 2013 as he led from the front.

You can ask me as often as you like, but that communication has not happened yet - RCB head coach Andy Flower on Virat Kohli taking over leadership

RCB head coach Andy Flower said that it's an exciting period for the team as they will be entering the new cycle. He said that anticipation will be good for fans, but so far, there hasn't been any communication with Virat Kohli either. Speaking to the media, he explained:

"Well, you're going to have to wait for the outcome. It's a new era that we are going into, the start of a three-year cycle, and I'm sure the anticipation will be good for you. You can ask me as often as you like, but that communication has not happened yet."

Virat Kohli has been the best batter in the Indian Premier League. He is the only batter in the league with over 8000 runs to his name. It's fair to say that if he gets the leadership back, it might bring the best out of time.
