Virat Kohli to contemplate taking a break from cricket after discussions with head coach: Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been amidst criticism and debates due to his slump form in international cricket. The situation got worse when Virat began hitting lows in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. To note a few, Virat Kohli has registered three ducks in the Tata IPL 2022 of which two have been golden ducks.

Moreover, the run machine has failed multiple times to score big runs for his team in the tournament. Kohli has just managed to surpass 300 runs in 14 outings of the Tata IPL 2022 at an average of 23.77.

While many former players and experts have expressed their views on how Virat can overcome his lean patch, the most suggested solution became taking a break from all forms of cricket. The path that has been followed by several overseas players in the recent past and should be followed by the Indian batting maestro said, several experts.

Virat Kohli in his recent interaction with Star Sports opened up about taking a break. The batter said he will be contemplating the idea with head coach Rahul Dravid and the Indian management.

"It?s only a matter of creating a balance and finding that balance which is right for you as an individual moving forward and I will definitely discuss this with all the people involved ? Rahul bhai, the Indian team management ? everyone to chart out whatever is best for myself and for the team definitely,? Virat told Star Sports in an interview.

Kohli further added that former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri has been the one who has mentioned a lot of times that he needs to take a break. Shastri has been in close quarters with Virat for several years during his stint as an Indian coach.

?There?s one person precisely who has mentioned it which is Ravi bhai and that?s because he has seen from close quarters over the last six-seven years the reality of the situation that I have been in. The amount of cricket that I have played and the ups and downs and the toll that it takes on you to play three formats of the game plus the IPL for 10-11 years non-stop with the seven years of captaincy in between,? he added.

?So to take a break and when to take a break is obviously something that I need to take a call on, but it is only a healthy decision for anyone to take some time off and just rejuvenate yourself mentally and physically," Virat added.

The RCB batter rebounded to form during RCB?s important clash against Gujarat Titans. The former skipper mustered 73 runs in 54 balls and guided his side to an eight wickets victory against the Titans. The victory took RCB inches closer to their playoff berth in the IPL 2022.
