WTC Final: Post the World Test Championship final, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli said that he and the entire Indian management doesn't want the young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant to lose his optimism and positivity with the outcome of one game.

Team India were tumbled by the kiwis in the final of the rain obstructed ICC World Test Championship final. New Zealand won the marquee clash by eight wickets as Kane Williamson and Ros Taylor showed great resistance to cross the line on day 6.

?Look, Rishabh Pant is going to be a very expressive player whenever he gets the opportunity. Whenever there is a situation that needs to be understood, I think he accesses it really well. When things don?t come off quite well, you can say that it was an error of a judgement and that?s acceptable in sports, but we don't want him to lose his positivity and his optimism in changing the situation for India, and that?s where his USP lies,? said the Indian skipper during the virtual conference after the game.

The skipper further said that the management has faith in Pant and will encourage him to back his style of game and put pressure on the opposition.

?We will continue to back him to play that way and find ways to put pressure on the opposition and find ways to score runs, which is his natural game. We are not too worried about that,? added Virat Kohli.

Rishabh Pant reminded the top run-scorer for Indian in the third innings as he plundered 41 runs. He kept stepping down the line to put pressure on the opposition during his stay at the crease, but one odd delivery that went up removed him as Tom Latham executed a brilliant catch at the end.

?I think it is up to him to understand weather it is an error of judgement and rectify it moving forward because he has a long career with the Indian team, and certainly someone who could be a match-maker for India on consistently many occasions in the future.?
