Virat's roar, Phil Salt's storm, RCB smashed Rajasthan; won the match by 9 wickets
Rajat Patidar's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Maintained Their dominance in the away fixtures as theu put on a strong show to win four straight away games this season, and the Chinaswamy's shortcomings have once again been erased. In IPL history, this marks the first time RCB has triumphed in their opening four away games of the season. The Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, will be eager to recover after suffering their fourth straight loss.
Given how the T20 game has changed, 173 isn't the hardest score to reach, but the pitch was a little slower and you had to use the new, hard ball to its best potential. The RCB openers did precisely that. Particularly outstanding was Phil Salt, who went on the bowlers and struck a lot of boundaries inside the Powerplay, resulting in 65 runs. Virat Kohli took over and quickened the pace after Salt reached his half-century but fell on 65.
At the other end, Devdutt Padikkal immediately shifted into fifth gear and ensured that the bowlers couldn't get back in. As RCB easily won, Kohli went on to score his 100th T20 half-century, becoming only the second male batter to do so after David Warner.
Before the innings break, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) may have believed they were still in the game, but they were quickly outplayed. Despite bowling a solid opening over, Jofra Archer still got hit for boundaries.
The opposition hitters continued hitting the fence, and there was no turning back. There were several missed catches, including some crucial ones, similar to the first innings. The only bowler who showed any promise and took a wicket was Kumar Kartikeya, the Impact substitute, but RR was ultimately soundly defeated.
On a sweltering afternoon earlier in the match, Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to bowl first, but the decision was primarily influenced by the pitch's apparent slowness. Since runs were scarce and RCB was able to take an early wicket, it proved to be a wise choice. But the home side began to come back in the middle overs after Yashasvi Jaiswal got set and was able to take on the bowlers. With a few wickets, Bangalore did stop the run-flow, but Dhruv Jurel's last-minute knock helped the Royals surpass the 170-run milestone.
