VVS Laxman confirmed to coach India during Ireland tour in June: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday confirmed that current National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief VVS Laxman will be accompanying the Indian contingent on the tour of Ireland, starting June 26.
Notably, team India will field two squads in July during the tour of Ireland which collides with the England tour. While the T20I squad will lock horns against Ireland, the red ball squad will be playing a practice test match against Leicestershire ahead of the one-off rescheduled test match against England.
Head coach Rahul Dravid will be with the red-ball contingent in England gearing up for the all-important test match against England.
The development was confirmed by the BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Wednesday. "He will travel with the Indian team to Dublin," BCCI secretary Jay Shah was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.?

It?s important to note that a similar agreement was made, a year ago, when the senior Indian side was on England?s tour for five matches test series while a second-string Indian squad was slated to travel to the island nation, Sri Lanka, for a limited-over series.
While then head coach Ravi Shastri accompanied the red-ball squad in England, then NCA chief Rahul Dravid travelled with the second string Indian side to Sri Lanka for the white ball matches.
A few days ago, the BCCI named India's T20I squad for the shortest format series against South Africa. A few probable names were missing from the list besides the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami, who all have been given a breather to freshen up for the challenge against England.
Shikhar Dhawan, Rahul Tripathi and T Natarajan were expected to make their cut in the squad against SA, however, they missed the list. These three names will be present for the tour of Ireland and Shikhar Dhawan may be seen donning the skipper?s hat as well.
