Although Gujarat Titans (GT) plundered 214 runs in the Tata IPL 2023 Final, their effective score was reduced to 171 runs in 15 overs after rain played spoilsport in the second innings of the fixture.

CSK got off to a decent start with the openers adding 74 runs before the first breakthrough. The following batters also did their part and took CSK close to the win. Eventually, in the end, CSK required 10 runs off the final two deliveries of the game. Mohit Sharma, who had scalped three wickets in the game, had the ball in his hand and Ravindra Jadeja was on strike.

With 10 runs remaining, Jadeja smoked the penultimate delivery for a six and then scored a boundary in the final ball to take CSK over the line against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Tata IPL 2023 Final.

With the win, CSK fetched its fifth IPL trophy having won four before 2023 and now equals Mumbai Indians (MI) record of five IPL title wins.
