West Indies has announced the strong 15-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Pakistan

West Indies has announced the strong 15-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Pakistan. Amir Jangoo, who made a century on ODI debut against Bangladesh, has received the maiden Test call-up.

West Indies will be touring Pakistan for the two-match Test series next year. The first match of the series between the teams is scheduled to take place on 17th January 2025 at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. The next match will be played at the same venue.

While Amir Jangoo has received the maiden call-up, spinner Gudakesh Moite has also earned a recall to the side. West Indies will be without their key pacer, Shamar Joseph, for the two-match series against the Pakistan team.

Shamar Joseph will be missing the series due to the injury that he faced and will be doing rehabilitation from the injury. Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph was unavailable for selection and won't be part of the series.

Talking about the squad for the series, head coach Andre Coley said that while picking their squad their focus was on building the things and transforming the learnings from 2024. He said:

"For the Test series against Pakistan in January 2025, the focus is on building on what we have done well and transforming the learnings from 2024 into tangible results.

"Motie rejoins the squad to bolster the spin attack, while Jangoo's selection comes on the back of his consistency across formats in regional cricket, as well as his demonstrated high level of competency against spin bowling."
