ICC T20 World Cup 2021: When it comes to T20 cricket (T20I or franchise), the West Indies national cricket team never fails to entertain the fans all across the globe with their seer brilliance in the format. West Indies will enter the mega flagship ICC tournament as one of the fan favourite teams to get crowned as the T20I champions for the second time in a row.
With the likes of Kieron Pollard, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis and many other cricketers bolstering the T20I squad, West Indies will be confident enough to defend their title in the UAE and Oman.
Their recent T20I series win against Australia is a prominent example to what extent they can be brutal in the shortest format, which is more or less dominated by them. The power-hitting at the backend of the innings coupled with the sweat timers of the ball at the top and middle-order has brought the team back into winning ways.
If the experts are to be believed, West Indies are the team to beat in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis
The veteran cricketer Lendl Simmons paired with Evin Lewis has made a formidable opening combination for West Indies in the recent past.
The West Indies cricket board recalled Simmons for his services, especially in the T20 World Cup 2021. Simmons made his international debut way back in 2006 and still going strong in all the departments.
Besides international cricket, Simmons is also quite active on various overseas franchise T20 leagues.
Chris Gayle, who used to open the innings a little while ago, has been pushed back to number three to get a better depth in the middle order.
Simmons averages 27.25 in 64 innings he played in the T20I cricket. He is one short of 1500 runs in the shortest format.
Evin Lewis, on the other hand, gave a perfect kickstart to his T20I career after making his debut in 2016. He averages almost 32 in 42 outings in the T20Is and has plundered 1277 runs.
Moreover, to add more feathers in his hat, Lewis has smacked two centuries in the shortest format along with nine half-centuries.
