In what proves to be a massive development, the Australian National Cricket Team have decided to rest Travis Head for the highly-important 3rd One-Day International match versus England at Riverside Cricket Stadium, Chester-Le-Street.
English skipper Harry Brook won the toss and opted to field first inorder to capitalise on the pacer-friendly conditions in the initial phase of the innings.
Meanwhile, Aussie captain Mitchell Marsh said that hard-hitting opener Travis Head won't be taking part in this encounter, with fast-bowling All-rounder Cameron Green taking his place in the starting XI.
Why is Travis Head not taking part in the 3rd One-Day International versus England?
Aussie captain Mitchell Marsh revealed that Travis would be rested for this encounter, due to the development of soreness. The tourists will also be without the services of premier leg-spinner Adam Zampa, who has been ruled out of this match due to an illness he suffered.
Premier All-rounder Cameron Green comes in for Head, while seamer Sean Abbott takes the place of Adam Zampa.
Known for his ability to dominate bowlers easily, Head had a really good outing with the bat in the Trent Bridge ODI, guiding the Kangaroos to a comfortable seven-wickets win with a jaw dropping hundred.
The Southpaw played a sensational not our knock of 154* runs in 129 balls, which consisted of five huge maximums and 20 good-looking fours. His magnificent inning helped his team chase down a tough target of 316 runs in just 44 overs.
The 30-year-old carried his momentum from the first encounter into the second match at Headingley as well, playing a quick knock of 29 runs. Despite not converting his quickfire start into a big inning, the Southpaw looked in sublime form before fast bowler Brydon Carse got rid of him with a short-pitched delivery.
Having suffered two back to back embarrassing defeats in the first-two games of the series, the home side would be desperate to get the better of their fierce-rivals in the third match and prevent from taking an unattainable lead.
