The Indian selectors and the BCCI have asked senior cricketers from the Indian team to feature in ongoing tournaments like the Buchi Babu and the Duleep Trophy in the pre-season domestic tournaments.

The likes of great players who have played cricket for India across all formats, like Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, and Jaiswal, have been included in the teams for the Duleep Trophy.

Among them, Mohammad Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja were picked under Duleep Trophy?s team B. Siraj has been ruled out due to illness, and hence he will not feature in the Duleep Trophy. In his place, Navdeep Saini has been called in as a replacement.

Next came Umran Malik, who was a part of team C of the Duleep trophy and has also been replaced due to his illness by Ranji sensation Gaurav Yadav. The long story of his struggle went viral after he claimed a 10-wicket haul in a Ranji match against Delhi. He mastered the ball and came to the limelight as he struck for 41 wickets in 11 bowling innings and took five five-wicket hauls, averaging 14.53.

The bowler has 141 first-class wickets in his short career of 37 matches that started in 2012 when he made his debut for Madhya Pradesh, where he was a consistent performer. He moved to Puducherry before the domestic season of 2023-24.

The withdrawal of Ravindra Jadeja?s name from Team B of the Duleep Trophy yet awaits formal reasoning from the BCCI, though fans are excited by the decision. They feel this is a token of respect for the ICC?s best Test all-rounder. Though no replacement has been named for Jadeja as of yet, and it is awaited as well.
