WPL 2025: How can the Mumbai Indians qualify directly for the Final? Qualification Scenario

MI W vs RCB W: The 20th match of the Tata Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 is slated to be played today between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The match will commence at 7:30 PM IST (Indian Standard Time) onwards and all eyes will be on this exciting contest. 

The Delhi Capitals (DC) will also be keeping a close eye on this forthcoming contest as this match will determine which team will get the chance to take part directly in the final of WPL 2025. Smriti Mandhana-led RCB have been knocked out of the playoffs race but they have a chance to mess around with MI's chances of securing a direct place in the Final. 

The Mumbai-based team have already cemented their playoffs spot alongside the likes of Gujarat Giants (GG) and Delhi Capitals (DC). But, the team that will directly play in the title-deciding clash is yet to be decided. Both MI & DC will be fighting it out versus each other to secure the direct spot in the summit clash. 

Delhi Capitals will be supporting RCB

Currently, Delhi Capitals is at the top of the points table of Women's Premier League and they have already played all of their eight matches of the league stage phase. They have 10 points after five wins to their name. 

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, earned 10 points with five wins in seven matches, and they are placed second according to net run rate. If the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team wins today, then Delhi Capitals will come second in the points table and Mumbai Indians will be on top. 

WPL 2025: Qualification Scenario for the Final

In the Women's Premier League, after the league stage matches are over, the top three teams qualify for the playoffs. The first placed team directly enters the final while the number two and number three teams play the eliminator match versus each other to reach the final.

If Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) led by Smriti Mandhana defeats Mumbai Indians (MI) today, then Delhi Capitals (DC) will directly enter the final of WPL. Whereas if Mumbai wins, then they will secure a place in the final and Delhi will have to play the eliminator match versus the Giants.
