Vivo IPL 2021: The second phase of the Vivo IPL 2021 has suffered an early shake as a couple of key players have pulled out of the tournament either due to personal reasons or due to some injuries concerns. High stature players like Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Pat Cummins, Jhye Richardson, Riley Meredith, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson and a few others have already withdrawn from the lucrative T20 league and the numbers are expected to increase as time progresses.
Franchises have already started signings of the new recruits to cover the voids created by the players who have pulled out. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) earlier announced the roping in of Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera, Punjab Kings roped in Nathan Ellis, Rajasthan Royals (RR) signed Glenn Phillips for the remainder of the Vivo IPL 2021.
This article will walk you through the top 3 overseas Batsmen who are most probable to come as the replacement in the Vivo IPL 2021.
3 overseas Batsman who can come as a replacement in the Vivo IPL 2021:
Marnus Labuschagne:
The Australian batting sensation Marnus Labuschagne is the first name on the list and is most probable to feature in the IPL 2021 if he agrees in terms with any of the IPL franchises. Labuschagne has his own pedigree in international cricket and is often called the successor of Steven Smith. The cricketer is well known for his distinct style of batting.
Labuschagne has not had a great time in T20 cricket. He has been involved in 15 T20 matches in Australia?s Big Bash League (BBL) where he has amassed 273 runs at an average of 19.50 and strike rate of 113.75.
IPL franchises can keep him as an all-rounder for the remainder of the fourteenth season. He has 11 wickets in 12 innings in BBL and can serve a great value in the IPL.
Devon Conway:
This name needs no introduction. Devon Conway has laid down a smooth path for himself wherever he goes. The New Zealand cricketer, though, does not have a rich international cricket experience, but in whatever time he has had, he has made it count for his portfolio.
Conway recently debuted in test cricket and amassed a 200 in the opening game at the Home of Cricket, Lords. He was brilliant all throughout the test series as well as against India in the WTC finals.
Moreover, the cricketer has featured in 14 T20I matches and has amassed 473 runs at a blistering strike rate of 151 and with a superb average of 59.12.
Devon Conway can add great value to the IPL team that is suffering from the issue of openers.
Lendl Simmons:
The Caribbean cricketer Lendl Simmons also comes on the list. Simmons was in good touch in the recent T20I series against Australia and scored runs in bulk. He was a standout performer for the team and helped his side thrash Australia brutally in the five matches series.
The cricketer has also a wealthy T20I experience under his hat. He has plundered 1508 T20I runs in 66 matches at a strike rate of 123.
Moreover, the cricketer was quite active in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well. He has featured in 29 IPL matches for Mumbai Indians (MI) and has amassed 1079 runs at an average of 39.96 and strikes at 126. He also has a century and 11 half-centuries in his name in the lucrative league.
