Virat Kohli: Team India have done a commendable job in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They are one of the three teams that have been undefeated so far in this tournament. India won their first Super 8 match against Afghanistan and will be facing Bangladesh in their next game on Saturday at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua. There are a few things that the team needs to take care of, and Virat Kohli's form is the biggest talking point.

The champion batter is going through his worst T20 World Cup tournament. He has scored only 29 runs in four innings at an average of 7.25 with a strike rate of less than 100. Notably, Virat ended the IPL 2024 with the most runs and entered the tournament with good form under his belt. But since he has been asked to open the innigns, he has struggled badly. Though the conditions were hard, one can expect him to deliver in tough conditions.

Virat Kohli's form has become a major talking point in the cricket world. Many former cricketers still back him and want him to continue to open the innings. On the other hand, some of them are in favour of him batting in his usual No. 3 position. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been waiting in the wings. So will we see him at No. 3 against Bangladesh, or will he open with Rohit? The Indian batting coach, Vikram Rathour, has discussed Virat's form and revealed that the management is backing him as the opener.

In the pre-match conference ahead of the IND vs BAN clash, Vikram said, "I am not happy [chuckles]. I would love if he gets going and scores more runs. We're not thinking on those [playing Kohli at No 3] lines yet. We are happy with the batting order we have. If any change happens, that will be to do with the opposition and conditions we come across." Virat Kohli is the leading scorer in the T20 World Cup.

But his record has declined a bit in this edition. But we all know that he is a big match player and has won many games for the team. However, the team and management want him to be back in form before the knockouts because the matches will be tough now. And India need an in-form Virat Kohli for the big games like the semi-final and final.
