BCCI bearing the quarantine expenses of the Australian Players at Sydney: CA.
Cricket Australia (CA) on Tuesday revealed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is bearing expenses of the Australian cricketer's quarantine facility who were part of IPL 2021. CA chief Nick Hockley confirmed that all the players have landed safely in Sydney on Monday.
As many as 38 Australians including all the players, commentators, match officials and support staff were airlifted to the Maldives after the suspension of the IPL as the government of Australia had banned flights from India. The Aussies spent 10 days in the Maldives due to the travel ban before heading to their country.
Nick Hockley in a statement said that the Indian board had promised all the facilities to the players and are successfully funding the whole process.
?Yes,? Hockley told the ?Sydney Morning Herald? when asked if BCCI was paying for the mandatory quarantine.
?The BCCI at the outset committed to ensuring that they got home safely and as quickly as possible. We?ve been working closely with them. They?ve been fantastic. They?ve delivered on that promise.?

The BCCI had earlier decided to put a hold on the elite tournament due to rising covid cases in the bio-secure environment. The decision was taken on May 4 before the game between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Indian board promised all the overseas recruits to send them to their homes safely and as quickly as possible and will not leave any stone unturned in their services after Australian PM Scott Morrison stated that no special arrangements will be given to the IPL players.
?Obviously our thoughts are with all of our friends in India. Then we?ve been working with the government, within the existing frameworks to make sure that they get home as quickly as possible,? Hockley said.
?I know the players, having texted a few of them, are extremely appreciative of the BCCI and we?re really pleased that they?re home safely.?
