Vivo IPL 2021: CSA to allow IPL-bound players to leave Pakistan series early for IPL 2021.
Vivo IPL 2021: Cricket South Africa (CSA) will allow its players who are booked by IPL franchises to leave the limited-overs series against Pakistan early and fly to India. South Africa and Pakistan?s are scheduled to play three ODIs and five T20Is in South Africa, starting 02nd April.
CSA has granted permission to the IPL bound players to leave the limited-overs series after the second ODI on 04th April. The fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League is slated to begin on 09th April.
Quinton de Kock (Mumbai Indians), Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje (Delhi Capitals), David Miller (Rajasthan Royals) and pacer Lungi Ngidi (Chennai Super Kings) are all part of South Africa?s national squad for limited series against Pakistan.
It is learnt that IPL franchises involved in this are planning to send a chartered flight which is the only feasible option left to bring players in the time for the games. BCCI in the SOPs of IPL has mentioned that player making bubble to bubble transfer via chartered flights will not be asked for the mandatory seven days quarantine. If the cricketers go for commercial flights then they will have to spend seven days inside their hotel rooms before training or playing a game.
As of now, taking commercial flights is not an option for the franchises due to time complexity.
Indian and England players who are named in India vs England series will also make bubble to bubble transfer for the forthcoming IPL to cut down on the mandatory quarantine. The England tour to India ends on 28th March as both teams play the third ODI in Pune.
