IND vs AUS 3rd ODI: A big breaking coming out of the center that centurion Shubman Gill and allrounder Shardul Thakur will be missing India vs Australia 3rd and final ODI of the series. The duo will not fly to Rajkot with the team as the management has decided to give them a rest before the upcoming ICC mega event.
Gill, Shardul to be rested
The Indian team management and the think tanks are properly having eyes on the fitness and workload management of each individual regularly associated with the squad. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat missed the first two ODIs because of it.
Keeping Shardul and Gill's recent outing and regularity, management has decided to rest them for the third match. The two will join the team in Guwahati, where India will start their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign.
Rohit, Virat will Join the team before IND vs AUS 3rd ODI
Indian Team's regular skipper Rohit Sharma, star batsman Virat Kohli, allrounder Hardik Pandya and chinaman Kuldeep Yadav, all were rested for the first two ODI against Australia. These players will join the squad at Rajkot for the third ODI against Australia.
The last time India played with a full-strength side was in the Asia Cup final where India humiliated Sri Lanka and bundled them for just 50 runs. India won that game by 10 wickets and became the Asian Champions.
Gill and Iyer shone in the IND vs AUS 2nd ODI
IND vs AUS 2nd ODI was played at Indore's Holkar Cricket Stadium. This ground is traditionally batting-friendly and we saw it yesterday. Fans witnessed two centuries and 4 half centuries (including Surya Kumar's stellar 72 off just 37 balls) from batsmen of both sides and one more century by Green but with the ball in his hands. Green ate 103 runs in his 10 overs and drew two wickets as well.
Winning the toss, Australia chose to bowl first and successfully got an early breakthrough of Ruturaj. Then came Shreyas Iyer, and he hammered the Aussies right from the third ball he faced and didn't stop till his 100. Shreyas Iyer smacked 105 runs in 90 balls.
Along with him, Shubman Gill was also punishing the Kangaroos and he too recorded his 6th century (104 in just 97 balls). This century is his 5th this year and he has a World Cup right at front. Shubman Gill is the leading run-scorer in ODIs in 2023 with 1230 runs in 20 innings at an average of 72.35 and a strike rate of 105.03. He could be the game-changer for India in this year's World Cup.
