Harry Tector Beats Babar Azam to win ICC Men's Player of The Month Award (May)

ICC Men's Player of The Month Award (May): Irish Player Harry Tector beats Pakistan Star Batter Babar Azam and Bangladesh's Youngster Najmul Hossain Shanto in the ICC Men's Player of the Month award. Tector had a Fantastic series against Bangladesh, and in response, he got maximum votes in the ICC Men's Player of the Month Nominee List.

After winning the POTM award, Harry Tector became the First Irish Player to win an ICC award. He played good cricket this year but unfortunately couldn't take his team into the world cup 2023 through the super league.

Harry Tector's performance against Bangladesh in the ODI series:?

Ireland lost the ODI series last month against Bangladesh by 2-0. Harry Tector has played fantastically in that series. The First ODI match was washed out due to rain, but Harry scored 21 runs in 37 balls till the match was played. 

Tector left no mark in the second match as he knocked 140 runs in 113 balls with seven fours and ten sixes. His team lost the game due to poor bowling performance. 

Najmul Hossain Shanto was his competitor and the Nominee for the Player of the Month award. Shanto has shown good intent in that series and played terrific innings. He made 35, 117 and 44 runs in the three matches ODI series against Ireland, respectively. Still, He didn't win the POTM award after such a good performance.

What Harry Tector said after Winning ICC POTM Award:

Harry Tector said, "I'm glad to have won this Award and would like to thank all who voted for me. Cricket is a team sport, and it will be first and foremost, so this Award is because of the performances and progress of the Ireland Men's Team."

"Without the support of Captain Andrew Balbirnie and Head Coach Heinrich Malan, the group of coaches and players I Played with, I wouldn't be able to win this Award."

"Laura Delany and Eimear Richardson have won the Women's Award, but still, this is the first time an Irish Men's Player has got an ICC Award. It is just starting, and more Irish will be winning such awards in the future."
