Eight teams were placed in two different groups. All the teams played their matches on Pakistani soil, while India played all its matches in Dubai. South Africa and Australia qualified for the semi-finals from Group A, while India and New Zealand qualified for the semi-finals from Group B. After the semi-final matches, we got two finalist teams, India and New Zealand.
The first semi-final match was played between India and Australia on Tuesday in Dubai in which Rohit Sharma and company won the match by defeating Kangaroo by four wickets. After winning the toss and batting first, the Australian team scored 264 runs in 49.3 overs, in reply, the Indian Army won the target chase match in 48.1 overs.
New Zealand and South Africa were face to face in the second semi-final match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Kiwis won this match by a margin of 50 runs and confirmed their place in the final. Batting first after winning the toss, Mitchell Santner and company scored 362 runs in 50 overs. Chasing the Target, South Africa could only score 312 runs in 50 overs.
