ICC World Cup 2023 final: Pat Cummins names India?s biggest strength ahead of final

We are one sleep away from the biggest final of the sporting event. The ICC World Cup 2023 final will take place between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (19th November).  Both the heavyweights will be engaged in an intense battle as they have played the dominant brand of cricket and it is expected to be a nail-biter.

With the ICC World Cup 2023 final just around the corner, Australian skipper Pat Cummins attended the press conference and was asked about the Indian team. The lanky fast bowler also talked about Men in Blue?s biggest strength in the tournament. 

Pat Cummins called Mohammed Shami India's biggest strength in the World Cup. The Indian pacer has looked a class apart in the tournament and it?s fair to say that he is one of the main reasons behind India reaching the ICC World Cup 2023 final without any defeat under their belt.?

Mohammed Shami didn?t play the first few games but the injury of Hardik Pandya came as a blessing in disguise for the team. It allowed the team to drop Shardul Thakur and bring in Shami. He made an immediate impact as he picked five wickets in the first game he played. 

Mohammed Shami after that didn?t look back as he picked wickets in almost every game he played and put India in dominating positions. He?s the leading wicket-taker for the team as well as overall in the ongoing World Cup with 23 7/57 wickets to his name from just 6 games at an average of 9.13.

Mohammed Shami?s best came during the semi-final against New Zealand. The fast bowler returned with the figures of 7/57 and helped his side reach the final of the tournament. He also became the leading wicket-taker for India in the history of World Cups with 50 wickets to his name. 

The spotlight will be on him during the ICC World Cup 2023 final as he will be crucial to India?s chances. With the way he has bowled in the tournament, he?s expected to play a huge role. A lot of things will be dependent on him and if he performs the way he has been doing, it?s fair to say that no one can take the World Cup away from India.

Mohammed Shami now has taken 21 wickets in this edition of the World Cup. He also has the most five-wicket haul in World Cups and also bagged the record of the best bowling figure by an Indian in World Cups. The fast bowler also became the fastest to 50 wickets in the tournament.
