IND vs PAK T20 World Cup 2024: ICC Provide Update on Venue in New York, Exclusive Facilities

IND vs PAK: The Nassau County Stadium in New York is in the final stages of its makeover for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. While the newly-built stadium in New York is set to host a string of World Cup matches, special focus will be on the India vs Pakistan fixture, which will be held on June 9.

The Nassau County Stadium in New York is tailor-made to serve the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which runs between June 1 and 29. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has continuously monitored the construction and development of the stadium and has posted the same on its social media handles.

Equipped with the highest standards of technological advancements, the Nassau County Stadium is set to compete with the likes of Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in its dimensions.

ICC?s head of events, Chris Tetley, provided a much-needed update as he said, ?Whenever a new stadium comes up, there are a lot of questions about the size." "But the Nassau County ground is not a token-sized ground - it is 75 yards east-west and 67 yards north-south from the centre. It is similar to the size of Wankhede. The drainage facilities, too, will be world-class," he said.

The stadium will host as many as 8 matches during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, all during the group stages. The first game it will host will be between Sri Lanka and South Africa on June 3. India will play their opening game on June 5 against Ireland at the Nassau County Stadium followed by the most-anticipated IND vs PAK clash on June 09.

Damian Hough, who is overseeing the preparation of pitches in New York indicated that the pitches will have a decent pace and bounce. He further added that the ball will come into the bat nicely.

"The pitches will have pace and bounce and the ball should come onto the bat, something that the players prefer. The idea is to produce good pitches that will stay good throughout the tournament and the players will enjoy playing on," he said.

The anticipation for the IND vs PAK clash is growing as days are inching closer. There is a soar in the excitement among the fans, as they plan their visits to witness the jaw-dropping contest between arch-rivals India and Pakistan.
