IND-W vs BAN-W: Harmanpreet Kaur Fumes at 'Pathetic Umpiring' as 3rd ODI Resulted in a Tie

IND-W vs BAN-W: Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian skipper lashes out at the ill umpiring in the third ODI played between India Women and Bangladesh Women in Bangladesh on Saturday. With the third match ending in a tie, the series resulted at 1-1.

India was leading the hunt for 226 when Smriti and Harmanpreet were at the crease, according to Harmanpreet, but they were heartbroken by the "pathetic umpiring decisions" that cost them the match.

When she attempted to sweep and was given out LBW, her frustration with the umpiring was apparent. She retaliated by using her bat to break the stumps before getting into a heated argument with umpire Tanvir Ahmed.

In the post-match presentation ceremony, skipper Harmanpreet didn't hold back her disappointment. She said, "I think a lot of learning for us from the game. Even apart from the cricket, the kind of umpiring that was happening we were very surprised. The next time we come to Bangladesh we will make sure we have to deal with this type of umpiring and prepare ourselves accordingly."

Despite the umpiring issues, Harmanpreet acknowledged Bangladesh's performance. ?They (Bangladesh) batted really well, batted according to the situation. They were taking those singles which were very crucial. In between we leaked a few runs but we controlled the game very well when we were batting, but as I mentioned earlier, some pathetic umpiring was done we are really disappointed about some decisions given by the umpires," she added.

Yastika Bhatia's expulsion was the first significant flashpoint on Saturday. Yastika was called out lbw, but she kept her ground and looked at the umpire before dragging herself off the pitch.

Meghna Singh, the final Indian batter to be dismissed for being caught behind with the scores tied, started to leave the ground before hesitating and directing towards the umpires.

Questions were also raised regarding the Dhaka game's decision to forgo the Super Over, which is frequently used in limited-over international competitions to break ties.

Nevertheless, the commentators said that the "scheduled time was over" and the trophy will be shared as the Bangladeshi players were near the boundary line celebrating. The Indian squad and its fans were disappointed by this choice, which was paired with the disputed umpiring.

Smriti Mandhana said that Harman's reaction was in the heat of the moment. She said "When you play for India you want to win the match, and it happens in the heat of the moment. I think she [Harmanpreet] wasn't really happy with the decision given and she felt she isn't out. That is why that [reaction] came about. It is just the heat of the moment and nothing much."
