IPL 2021: 3 franchise that can sign Shivam Dube in IPL 2021 mini-auctions.
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: Star all-rounder Shivam Dube has been released by the Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) franchise ahead of IPL 2021. Dube was brought by RCB two years back for massive INR 5 crores and expected him to play the role of a key finisher in the squad.
Although there were few small cameos from the all-rounder but it failed to justify the price tag. Taking about the bowling department, Dube has not been productive for the Virat Kohli led side. In the 15 games over two last seasons, he has only picked 4 scalps and scored only 169 runs at a poor average of 16.90 while batting.
Here we will look at the franchise that might be interested in the young all-rounder for the IPL 2021.
3 franchise that can pick Shivam Dube in IPL 2021:
Rajasthan Royals:
The franchise has released some of the massive players including Steve Smith and Robin Uthappa, this creates a slot for an all-rounder in the team. Dube can be the one who can do that job for Royals.
Royals definitely need someone who can play spin nicely and can increase the scoring rate in the last overs. After Josh Buttler and Ben Stokes, Dube can come in and slam some good runs for the team to reach a good total.
Rahul Tewatia has also proved his worth in the team and he can come at seven to provide more depth. It would be one of the best batting attacks if Rajasthan Royals can pick up Shivam Dube in the IPL 2021 mini-auctions.
Kings XI Punjab:
The Mohali based franchise last year struggled to amass good runs at the end despite a blistering opening partnership. Glenn Maxwell and James Neesham failed to capitalise on the good start provided by the top order.
The dire need of a finisher in the team can be filled with Shivam Dube. The experienced all-rounder can come handy with the ball and bat both. The tall guy can smash sixes for fun and we have seen that in past.
The surface in Mohali supports pace so, Dube can become instrumental in both ways for the KL Rahul led side. He can be one of the signings for Kings XI Punjab.
Mumbai Indians:
Shivam Dube can be an option for the defending champions Mumbai Indians. The team has all the aspects fulfilled but need a backup for the all-rounders. Shivam Dube could be one who can give a solid back-up option to Mumbai Indians.
With the likes of Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard, it is unlikely that Dube will get the chance in playing eleven unless someone gets injured. But to keep backup options for these, Dube can come handy.
