IPL 2021 auctions date confirmed, the event will be held on 18th February.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: The event organisers of the mega event in India on Wednesday released the date for IPL 2021 auctions and location. The auctions of the cash-rich league 14th edition will be held on 18th February in Chennai

The event has been organised following the two test matches in Chennai against England. The series will begin on 05th February while the second test will be played from 13 to 17th February 2021 in Chennai.

The BCCI is yet to clarify the venues of the IPL, whether the league will be hosted in India or will move to UAE. The president of BCCI, Sourav Ganguly is keen on doing everything possible to retain the league to India only.

The thirteenth season of Indian Premier League was shifted to UAE due to harsh pandemic situation in India. The tournament was held in the window of September to November.

It would be safe to say, if the series against England gets complete smoothly then the chances of the lucrative league getting hosted in India will increase.

The player retention deadline has reached while the last date for IPL 2021 players trade window is 04th February.

Till now three players have been traded by the franchise. The trade can be done in two ways either player to player trade or in-all-cash trade deal.

Rajasthan Royals have traded Robin Uthappa to Chennai Super Kings in the all-cash deal while Royal Challenger Bangalore has acquired Harshel Patel and Daniel Sams in trade with Delhi Capitals. The trade was done in the all-cash deal.

The notable players have been released by the franchise. The release list contains the likes of Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Alex Carey, Chris Morris, Harbhajan Singh, Aaron Finch etc.

IPL 2021 franchise with Purse Value left:

Kings XI Punjab will step into the IPL 2021 auctions with the biggest purse value (INR 53.20 crores) followed by Royal Challenger Bangalore (INR 35.90 crores) and Rajasthan Royals (INR 34.85 Crores).

While Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad will have the lowest purse value (INR 10.75 Crores).
