IPL 2021 News & Updates: The former Indian left-handed batsman, Gautam Gambhir feels that MS Dhoni will not consider releasing many players in the IPL 2021 mini-auctions. MS Dhoni-led CSK had a disappointing season of IPL last time. They broke their excellent record of qualifying for Playoffs each time in IPL 2020.

With the many players of CSK lying on the wrong side of the 30s, Chennai Super King desperately needs a small makeover of the team.

Talking on chances of MS Dhoni releasing players, Gautam Gambhir said,? I think MS Dhoni will not let go many players in the IPL 2021 mini-auctions. It is clear the this is not a full-fledged auction and before releasing the players, the franchise will have to consider the availability of the better player in the auction pool.?

?I accept the fact that most of the players of CSK have been ageing and they desperately need someone better. But for that, they will look at what?s in the auction table. I don?t think there will be much purchase,? Gambhir added.

?But that?s the quality of MS Dhoni, even though he had players who are in their 30s but still his side is one of the most successful sides. He concentrates on just that particular year and that has been the story since 2008 IPL.?

However, according to the sources, Chennai Super Kings is likely to release some of the players who went flop. Kedar Jhadav is one of the cricketers who might lose his IPL contract worth 7.8 crores. Jadhav had a sloppy season last time and there was a lot of criticism revolving around his age and performance.

But it is the truth to increase the purse value and to get some fresh faces to the side, CSK will have to release some of the players. From here onwards, CSK will be building the lineup who will play for them for at least 3-4 years. A strong Indian core will be needed.
