IPL 2022 Updates - Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to appoint Dale Steyn as their bowling coach: In an important development, the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) winning franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is all set to rope in former South African pacer Dale Steyn as their bowling coach in the IPL 2022.

Steyn, who has played in the IPL, has almost agreed on the terms. The reports suggest that the negotiations with the former pacer went well and the franchise is probable to make a formal announcement by the end of next week if everything continues to go as per the plans.

It is important to note that Dale Steyn had announced his all format cricket retirement earlier this year in August.

Steyn, who is one of the most celebrated pacers, has featured in 93 test matches in which he has scalped 439 wickets at an average of 22.95. The fierce speedster has also uprooted 196 wickets in 125 ODI games he played for South Africa. Moreover, he has also played the shortest format cricket for his national team. In 47 T20I matches, Steyn has picked 64 wickets with an economy little below seven.

The pacer has also played as many as 95 matches in the elite Indian Premier League (IPL). Dale has played for Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Lions, and Royal Challengers Bangalore before bidding goodbye to the game of cricket as a player.

Dale Steyn will work closely with Tom Moody who is likely to be appointed the head coach. It is noteworthy that former head coach Trevor Bayliss and batting coach Brad Haddin recently parted ways with the franchise following the recent unsuccessful season of IPL.

The franchise will also be without the services of long-standing mentor VVS Laxman as he has been appointed chief of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore recently.

If the reports are to be believed, SRH is also in talks with former India and Tamil Nadu all-rounder Hemang Badani. The former cricketer is likely to join the coaching staff of the franchise in IPL 2022.
