IPL 2023: Gujarat defeated Mumbai in the qualifier two by 62 runs, and now they moved to the finals and will play against CSK on May 28th at Narendra Modi Stadium. Shubman Gill knocked his third IPL century and led his team to a victory.
Mumbai Indians performed poorly with both Bat and bowl in the do-or-die match. First, their bowling was fully flopped, whereas Batters like Tilak Verma and Suryakumar Yadav showed good resistance but got out by scoring 43 and 61 runs.
Mumbai Indians hustled, but the target was huge:
In the Second Inning, Mumbai lost crucial wickets in the Powerplay as Their Skipper Rohit Sharma had scored only eight runs, and Nehal Wahdera, who came to open in place of injured Ishan Kisan, Nehal made four runs in three balls. Tilak Verma, A youngster, showed a nice intent and played a stormy inning of 43 runs in just 14 balls with five fours and three sixes.
Cameron Green And Suryakumar Yadav made a small partnership of 52 runs. Cameron got bowled out by Joshua Little on 30 runs. Surya Tried to play another match-winning knock, but unfortunately he made only 61 runs, the target was huge, and his inning wasn't enough to win this Match.
Gujarat Titans had good control in the game:
Gujarat Titans had a very strong bowling unit with experienced quality bowlers. So, Gujarat Titans had good control from the start of the game as they took two wickets in the Powerplay. The Purple Cap holder, Mohd. Shami has taken two wickets and gave runs, whereas Rashid Khan and Joshua Little took two and one wickets, respectively.. Mohit Sharma bowled very well in death overs and got five wickets.
Gujarat Titans made the highest score in the IPL Playoffs:
In the First Inning, Gujarat's opener Wriddhiman Saha lost his wicket 7th over by scoring 18 runs in 16 balls, whereas His partner Shubman Gill played a terrific inning and knocked his third century of this season.
Gujarat Titans had a decent start in the Powerplay, but after the 9th over, Shubman changed his gear and started hard-hitting against all MI bowlers. He scored 129 runs in 60 balls with ten sixes and seven fours. This inning by Shubman has an absolute game-changer for Gujarat as it took the game far away from MI.
Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan made massive 138 runs for the 2nd wicket. Later, Hardik came and played a finisher role for his team, making quick 28 runs in 13 balls with two sixes and fours. This collective inning by GT batters led them to 233 runs on the scoreboard.
MI bowlers leak plenty of runs:
Mumbai Indians, whose bowling unit is quite inexperienced and consistently leaks lots of runs in this whole tournament, expect some of the matches where their bowlers performed well.
