Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are one of the teams who have performed consistently. While Lucknow Super Giants is new to the Indian Premier League, Sunrisers Hyderabad has been around for nearly a decade. Sunrisers Hyderabad won an IPL title in 2016, while LSG has only played one season of the IPL and ended up as the second runner-up.

Both the teams have faced each other only once in the 14th edition of the IPL, where LSG defeated SRH by ten runs. The decently high-scoring game was a thrilling battle to watch. LSG is now set to welcome SRH in their home ground for the first time.

LSG will be playing their third match tonight after facing the loss against Chennai Super Kings in the previous game. SRH hasn?t had good kickstart to this edition of the IPL as well, as they lost their first match against Rajasthan Royals by a huge margin.

Here is a tactical analysis of the LSG vs SRH, 10th Match of TATA IPL 2023.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

LSG Squad

Both the teams, LSG and SRH will welcome their star South African players to their squads tonight. While LSG has the strong batsman Quinton DeKock to open the innings with KL Rahul, SRH welcomes their official captain of the 15th edition of the IPL, Aiden Markram.

Lucknow Super Giants have employed the strategy of promoting their all-rounders (Deepak Hood and Krunal Pandya) to bat at number three and four and pushing their overseas Batsmen (Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran) to number five and 6. The strategy is to attack the spinners in the middle overs so that the middle-order Batsmen can target the pacers at the end. Unfortunately, this strategy doesn?t seem to work today. As Deepak Hooda has put a decent number of runs on the board against Umran Malik, SRH?s fastest pacer.

SRH Squad

While Krunal Pandya has had control over Rahul Tripathi, whose knocks are crucial to the team?s upper batting order, Krunal has dismissed Tripathi thrice while conceding only 26 runs against him over 22 deliveries.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has kept the bats silent of the opening duo of LSG KL Rahul and Quinton DeKock. Both the aggressive Batsmen have a low run rate (116 and 94, respectively) against the right-arm fast bowler. T. Natrajan has also kept the Captain of LSG, K.L. Rahul silent with the left-arm fast bowling attack. The fast bowling duo of SRH have had a good record against the opening Batsmen of LSG. Hence, the powerplay of LSG batting will be an interesting Best versus best battle to watch.
