IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) convincingly defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets in match number 29 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. With the win, CSK bagged two rating points and jumped to third place in the IPL 2023 Points Table.
CSK bowling unit was too good for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on this occasion and restricted them to a scanty total of 134 runs in 20 overs. The lack of partnership in the SRH batting lineup put them in an uncomfortable situation with such a low score to defend against the in-form CSK.
Opener Abhishek Sharma top scored with 34 runs with Rahul Tripathi playing run-a-ball 21. Besides these two batters, the others couldn't even cross 20 run mark against CSK.
In chase of a meagre total, CSK saw a brilliant opening partnership between Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad. The two batters added 87 runs for the first wicket and made things easier for CSK. However, things got a little frustrating for CSK following the wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad as wickets started falling in quick succession.
However, in the end, the loss for SRH was inevitable, but they surely delayed it by a fair margin. CSK defeated SRH by seven wickets with Devon Conway remaining unbeaten at 77 runs score.
