IPL 2023: Ranking All IPL 10 Teams Based on Their Potential set of Bowlers
By Rishab Dutta Mar 28, 2023 7:12 AM IST
IPL 2023: The IPL has been widely regarded for its highly amusing competition and for providing an extremely robust platform for national and international talents. Many great players have ruled the shorter format, especially the players who could score quick runs, but there is an exceptionally talented set who resist the batters and bowl crucial overs that change the course of the game during vital phases of a match.
In the game of the strongest power strikers, the capable set of players who resist them are mostly provided with an essential role in the team. It is the bowlers who mostly play the role of preventing run-scoring opportunities and are good at defending totals during the second inning. It is also noted that often the T20 format is harsh for the bowlers but also unadventurous without them.?
IPL 2023 Teams:

Let's take a look at the 10 teams and their best possible set of bowlers. Check this analysis carefully as this might change your IPL 2023 analysis and prediction to choose the best team and their bowlers while making your own dream team:
10. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Shardul Thakur, Sunil Narine, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, and Andre Russell
Rating: 6/10
Kolkata When looking at their team sheet, the Knight Riders do not appear to be a complete team. But they now have a decent set of players who can stir a revolution with the ball in hand. After last year's bowling disaster and having left out Pat Cummins, the Knight Riders will be highly dependent on their duo of Kiwi Pacers, Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson. Southee is the most highly rated T20i bowler and also the highest wicket-taker in T20 internationals.
KKR has a versatile lineup with Southee's wide degree of variations, Ferguson's raw pace, and Umesh Yadav's sensational control with the new ball. Their middle overs would also be secured by their highly experienced and tricky bowlers Shardul and Narine, added to the work rate of the muscle man Dre Russ.
They all combine to form a terrific lineup, but what concerns their fans is their weak form and absence from recent international matches.?
9. Chennai Super Kings (CSK): Maheesh Theekshana, Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande, Mukesh Chowdhary, Simarjeet Singh, Kyle Jamieson, Mahesh Pathirana, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Rating: 7/10
Though CSK is very formidable in their batting department, they lag behind in a few areas in their bowling lineup. They have a vivid variety of players to choose from in the bowling deck, but what they lack is international playing experience and game time. The CSK bowling is led from the front by their veteran Ravindra Jadeja and seam bowling sensation Deepak Chahar.
These two are probably the anchors of the Super King's bowling lineup, which also consists of talented Indian domestic scalps like Mukesh Chowdhary and Tushar Deshpande. Other supporting players include Maheesh Theekshana, Kyle Jamieson, and Rajvardhan Hangergekar.?
8. Lucknow Supergiants (LSG): Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan, Mark Wood, Ravi Bishnoi
Rating: 7/10
The last year's debutant faced several defeats despite stunning batting performances and putting a huge amount of runs on the board. On the other hand, some of their bowlers, including Mohsin Khan, performed admirably and were thrust into the spotlight.
This year too, all eyes will be on the young and versatile pacer Mohsin and players like Avesh and Sams will have their backs. Their new hope would lie on the English paceman, Mark Wood, who is known to be a complete T20 bowler with his insane pace and smart change in pace.
They also have an equal hand in the spin department with the duo of the rising star Ravi Bishnoi and the experienced leggie Amit Mishra, supported well by the all-rounder Krunal Pandya.?
7. Rajasthan Royals (RR) - Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Ravi Ashwin, Yuzi Chahal, Jason Holder, Adam Zampa
Rating: 7/10
Rajasthan Royals had a prolific run in the last season of the IPL in 2022, but one of the prime causes of their ultimate success in the brilliant run was the presence of a great bunch of bowlers. The royals looked to consolidate their bowling lineup by picking up a few more promising bowlers in the 2022 mini-auction.
The team comprising the tournament's best pace and spin duos is rated only 7 because of their absence from international cricket and lack of game time together. However, they tried and sorted out their concern from last year about a 5th bowling choice by picking up Jason Holder, who despite being an all-rounder is more beneficial with the ball than the bat.?
6. Delhi Capitals (DC) - Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, Mustafizur Rahman, Kuldeep Yadav
Rating: 8/10
Delhi Capitals have one of the most complete lineups of the tournaments; they have many players who are currently ruling the shortest format on international platforms. The protea pace duo of Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi, combined with the stellar Indian seamer Khaleel Ahmed, can be said to be the tournament's most informed pace attack.
DC included Mukesh Kumar after his brilliant domestic year at a note-worthy price of 5.25 crores. Their spin department is equally versatile with Kuldeep and Axar, who are different but unique in themselves.?
5. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): Harshal Patel, Reece Topley, Josh Hazelwood, David Willey, and Mohammed Siraj
Rating: 8/10
RCB are one of the most convincing teams in the IPL, and they are known to be home to some of the greatest players in the IPL. Even in the squad for the upcoming IPL, they have one of the most balanced lineups, with excellence all around from the best of batsmen, all-rounders, and bowlers.
Their bowling is expected to star players like India's latest limited-overs sensation, Md. Siraj, and Aussie paceman Josh Hazelwood, who excelled in T20s over the past few years and convinced everyone with his performance while playing for RCB.
They also included England's new bowling remedy, Reece Topley, with the hopes of using him at the position. Another huge support in RCB's bowling lineup is the Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, who is the recent sensation of T20s and participates in almost all T20 leagues around the globe.?
4. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) - Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, T.Natarajan, Umran Malik, Adil Rashid, Marco Jansen and Fazalhaq Farooqi
Rating: 8/10
The Sunrisers had a massive batting collapse in last year's IPL, but their bowlers did well even in bad circumstances. This year, however, they have the best possible batting order for a T20 game, and their bowlers will be expecting a lot of runs to defend.
They consist of the most different but most perfect trio?Bhuvi, Natarajan, and Umran Malik?the best blend of experience, variation in death bowling skills, and raw pace. Alongside this trio, they also include overseas youngsters Marco Jansen and Fazalhaq Farooqi, and after picking Adil Rashid in the mini-auction they ended their quest for a good T20 spinner.?
3. Mumbai Indians (MI) - Jofra Archer, Jason Behrendoff, Jhye Richardson, Duan Jansen
Rating: 9/10
Mumbai Indians have always been comprehensive with their brilliance in the bowling department, having featured the greatest of IPL bowlers, Lasith Malinga, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, and Jasprit Bumrah. This year, the absence of Bumrah might prove to be somewhat challenging for the Indians, but they still comprise a healthy lineup, featuring the fierce speed gun Jofra Archer, the lanky pacer Behrendoff, who introduces a natural angle on the ball, and Aussie paceman Jhye Richardson, who is in recent good form. However, the Indians would still be looking to count on their star bowler, Jasprit Bumrah. And would be hoping for his return, as they cannot include all 3 overseas pacers at the same time.?
2. Punjab Kings (PBKS) - Sam Curran, Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh, Rahul Chahar.
Rating: 9/10
Punjab Kings probably have the most star-studded bowling lineup of the tournament. They already had the likes of Proteas ace Kagiso Rabada and the terrific rising star from India, Arshdeep Singh. But despite the quality players in the team, they could not complete their pace attack as they lacked supportive bowling options, which is now fulfilled by PBKS's heavily invested inclusion of Sam Curran, whom they bought for a record price of 18.5 crores.
They also have Indian domestics Rahul Chahar and V. Kaverappa, who can play the supportive roles of a 4th and 5th bowler for Punjab, while they also have all-rounder options like Liam Livingstone and the current limited-overs all-rounder sensation Sikander Raza. All of them lack game time together otherwise would no doubt be rated a full 10 for their decorated bowling deck.?
1. Gujarat Titans (GT) ? Rashid Khan, Shivam Mavi, Md.Shami, Joshua Little, Yash Dayal, Alzarri Joseph and R.Sai Kishore
Rating: 10/10
The debutante in the last season showed a prolific debut in their debut season. The Titans depended on their proficiency in their bowling lineup, comprising mostly pace bowlers. Their pace attack is even more decorated as their Head Coach Ashish Nehra included Indian youngster Shivam Mavi at a whopping price of 6 crores, Irish seamer Josh Little, Joseph, and all-rounder Odean Smith.
Their other key bowlers even improved further, as Shami, Alzarri Joseph, and Yash Dayal improved their games and gained even more proficiency with time. They are expected to do even better than last year. On the other hand, they also have the most prominent T20 spinner, Rashid Khan, who is a terror for batters in the shortest format of the game.
All these bowlers will be captained and led by Hardik, who also bowls handy overs to evade tough situations, thus releasing the pressure from his bowlers.
