IPL 2024: GT Defeated MI by 6 Runs, Hardik Pandya Failed to Finish the game | GT vs MI Match Highlights

TATA IPL 2024: Gujarat Titans (GT) won the match no.5 of TATA IPL 2024 against the runners-up of last season Mumbai Indians (MI) by 6 runs at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Player of the match was Sai Sudharsan, who scored a crucial 45 runs for the Gujarat Titans and led his team to a defendable total of 168 runs.
Mumbai Indians performed fantastically in their very first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 but lost the match due to poor batting in the death overs. The Youngster Dewald Brevis and Rohit Sharma scored 46 and 43 runs, respectively. However, Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee took three and two wickets in this match against Gujarat Titans.
Gujarat Titans (GT) played decent cricket against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians but the bowlers gave wonderful performance in the death overs which led them to their first victory. GT need to improve their game in order to win the upcoming matches as they needs to have a few experienced players in the middle order.
IPL 2024 GT vs MI Match Highlights:
Gujarat Titans batted first and they started quite well as they scored 47 runs in the starting six overs of the match. The Newly appointed Skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan made a small partnership of 40 runs for the second wicket. However, this didn't last long as MI Pacers dominated the game.
Shubman Gill scored 31 runs in 22 balls whereas Sai Sudharsan scored 45 runs in 39 balls. However, In the last few overs, Rahul Twetia played a small impactful inning of 22 runs in 15 balls and led Gujarat Titans to a decent total of 168 runs on the scoreboard in 20 overs.
From the Mumbai Indians bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah bowled an exceptional spell of four overs as he took four wickets and gave only 14 runs with dot balls. The South African Pacer Gerald Coetzee took two wickets whereas Piyush Chawla took one wicket for their team.
Mumbai Indians batted well but they struggled in the death overs and failed to chased the target of 169 runs. Rohit Sharma and Dewald Brevis made a crucial partnership of 77 runs for the third wicket. However, Dewald Brevis scored 46 runs in 38 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes whereas Hitman Rohit Sharma scored 43 runs in 29 balls with 7 fours and 1 sixes.
From Gujarat Titans bowling department, Azmatullah Omarzai, Spencer Johnson and Mohit Sharma took two wickets each whereas Sai Kishore took one wicket.
