SRH vs PBKS Match Summary
PBKS had a strong batting effort in the first innings which aided them to put up a mammoth 214 runs total in 20 overs. The proceedings got underway with opener Atharva Taide and Prabhsimran Singh stitching a 97-run partnership. The two took their side to the flying start.
Taide was dismissed 4 shy of a well-deserved half-century, while Prabhsimran Singh holed out in the 15th over after playing a 71-run knock in 45 deliveries.
To capitalise on the start provided by the openers, Rilee Rossouw and Jitesh Sharma took the SRH bowlers to the cleaners at will. The two played handy knocks of 49 and 32 runs respectively during their stay in the middle and helped PBKS post a 214-run total.
SRH, in the chase, couldn't start strong as Arshdeep Singh castled Travis Head in the first delivery of the innings. The brilliant opening by Arshdeep Singh put PBKS on top of the contest, however, Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi played spoilsport in all their plans.
Abhishek Sharma continued his sublime touch with a magnificent 28-ball 66-run knock while Rahul Tripathi contributed 33 runs.
Nitish Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen joined the party following the dismissals of the two set batters to close in on the target. Nitish played a fine innings of 37 runs, while Klaasen was dismissed 8 shy of his yet another fifty in the IPL 2024.
Though the dismissal of Heinrich Klaasen brought some hope for PBKS to make a comeback, it was already too late for the opposition to take the lead. Eventually, it was SRH who got over the rope with 4 wickets in hand.
Let's take a look at the IPL Points Table (Updated) On 19th MAY after SRH vs PBKS:

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) move to the second spot in the IPL Points Table following their 4-wicket win over PBKS. SRH now has 8 wins from 14 matches and a net run rate of 0.414. However, it remains to be seen if they will end their campaign in the second spot or not.
Rajasthan Royals' fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will decide how the top 4 of the IPL Points Table will look. If RR wins the game, they will replace SRH in the second spot, however, if RR lose, SRH will remain seated.
