Vivo IPL 2021: New Zealand and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Kane Williamson along with his three other mates flew to Maldives after not feeling safe in the Covid-19 hotspot Delhi.?
SRH skipper Kane Williamson, CSK?s Mitchell Santner, RCB?s Kyle Jamieson and CSK physio Tommy Simsek took a commercial flight to land in the Maldives as they were not much comfortable in spending more time in the country?s capital Delhi.
As per the reports, all the aforementioned players were about to be in the mini-bio bubble in Delhi till May 10th and board the flight to the UK for the Test series against England and the World Test Championship final.
?Kane and few others from New Zealand were not feeling safe in Delhi because of the COVID situation there. That is why they decided to fly to Maldives,? a Sunrisers Hyderabad official told PTI.
All the other Kiwi players are reported to have left for New Zealand as the borders are open for their citizens. However, all of them are supposed to be in two weeks of mandatory quarantine before getting free.
Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Trent Boult along with his other New Zealand mates have already landed in his country through a chartered flight organised by the franchise. He will stay back with his family for a couple of days before again leaving for the UK.
The Australian recruits of the Indian Premier League (IPL) were shifted to the Maldives after the suspension of the elite competition. All the players will stay back in the Maldives till they become eligible to take a flight to Australia.
