Vivo IPL 2021: Maharashtra Government allows IPL franchise to practice and travel during night curfew.

Vivo IPL 2021: The Maharashtra Government on Monday cleared all the confusions about the IPL games and travel during the night curfew timings in Mumbai. The government has allowed teams to travel and practice despite the city is under the night curfew after 8 PM.

Maharashtra is witnessing sudden spikes in the covid-19 cases after the second wave. The state is currently recording over 35,000 cases per day. To break the chain and control the situations, night curfews have been imposed in the state from 08 PM to 07 AM during the weekdays along with Section 144.

The SOPs and the guidelines will be implemented from the very evening.

However, the state government has permitted IPL teams to practice and travel back to the hotel despite curfews as the teams are strictly adhering to the bio-bubble. The IPL games will also go as per the schedule from 07:30 PM.

? Considering the match-timings, teams practicing at the CCI and MCA are scheduled to practice in 2 sessions ? from 4pm to 6.30pm and 7.30pm to 10pm,? wrote Srirang Gholap, Under Secretary of the Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation department, in a letter issued to the BCCI.

??permission has been requested for teams and the IPL staff (to) be allowed to practice inside the grounds after 8pm and they may be allowed free movement from the ground to their respective hotels after the said time.

Mumbai?s Wankhede Stadium will host 10 IPL games starting 10th April. As of now, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings are having their bases in Mumbai.

In the last 24 hours, Mumbai recorded as many as 11,000 covid-positive cases.

A few cases were witnessed in the IPL also. Axar Patel and Devdutt Padikkal have been tested positive. Apart from these two cricketers, 10 groundstaff and six event managers were also tested positive.
