Vivo IPL 2021: Former Sri Lankan spinner and current Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) mentor and bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan has been hospitalised in Chennai after suffering a cardiac arrest. According to the reports, the former cricketer had undergone an angioplasty in Chennai.

ESPNcricinfo reported that the champion off-spinner ?had a stent fitted to unblock an artery, and will rejoin Sunrisers Hyderabad when discharged?.

He is the leading wicket taker in the international format with 1347 scalps under his belt. 

The spinner has featured in 133 Tests, 350 ODIs and 12 T20Is for his national side Sri Lanka in which he scalped staggering  800 wickets in Red ball cricket, 534 wickets in the One Day Internationals and 13 wickets in the T20Is.

Muralitharan was with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) squad for the ongoing fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has lost all the three games they have played in Chennai. At first Warner and Co. lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by 10 runs then to Royal Challengers Bangalore and a couple of nights ago to Mumbai Indians.

SRH are scheduled to play their fourth game against KL Rahul's Punjab Kings (PBKS). SRH is at the bottom of the Vivo IPL 2021 points table with three consecutive losses.
