Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 6 to resume from June 1.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday announced that the postponed games of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 6 with resume from June 1 in Karachi with all the safety protocols and precautions. The PCB also assured a strict action against those who will breach the SOPs.
All the cricketers who will be featuring in the T20 League will begin their seven days quarantine on May 22nd said the cricketing board.
The season 6 of the PSL was postponed after a series of covid 19 cases coming inside the bio-bubbles. Head coach of Peshawar Zalmi Daren Sammy and captain Wahab Riaz breached the protocols and went to meet the franchise owner Javed Afridi, who was not the part of the bio-security bubble.
PCB successfully conducted the 14 games of PSL before the covid-19 cases started to rise.
However this time PCB is committed to safely conduct the T20 league in the country and has also appointed two members fact-finding team for the same. This team will work closely with the franchises and the PCB for ensuring the bio-security. Suggestions will also be given in order to imporve the safety standards of the players as well as the staff members.
?The BoG discussed and debated the panel?s findings in detail. They expressed their disappointment at the failures that were highlighted in the report and advised remedial actions needed to be taken.
?The BoG endorsed all recommendations of the fact-finding panel, including robust and stringent implementation of the protocols, as well as maintaining a zero-tolerance approach towards all those who breach the Covid-19 SOPs, which are put in place for safeguarding the health and safety of all participants.?
