IPL 2024 SRH vs RR: In what promises to be a really exciting and fabulous encounter, 2016 winners Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and 2008 winners Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to take on each other in the second Qualifier of the 2024 Tata Indian Premier League at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, 24th May. Both the teams are going to fight it out against each other for the second spot in the final and the winner of this game will meet Kolkata Knight Riders in the final of IPL 2024 on 26th May.

Sunrisers Hyderabad?s formidable opening duo of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head are set to face a daunting challenge from Rajasthan?s spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. The Chepauk Stadium is known to assist the spinners and it remains to be seen how well the duo of Head and Abhishek perform against Ashwin and Chahal.

While Pat Cummins-led SRH will come into this game on the back of a heavy eight-wicket defeat by the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier one, Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals secured a good four-wicket win against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and both the teams will be giving their all to book their tickets for final against KKR.

In the previous game against Kolkata, Hyderabad?s strong batting unit failed to get going, with Rahul Tripathi?s solo fifty and a cameo of 30 runs by Skipper Pat Cummins helping the Men in Orange score 159 runs. But, the Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders chased down the target of 160 runs in 14 overs at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium and secured a direct entry in the final of IPL 2024.

Despite the defeat in the first Qualifier, SRH has another opportunity to reach the final due to finishing in the top two in the overall standings. Rajasthan Royals on the other hand qualified for the second Qualifier after Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag?s partnership helped them chase down the target of 173 against RCB at the same Stadium of Ahmedabad.

Both franchises will be looking to move one step closer to lifting their second IPL trophy as they take on each other for the 20th time in the history of the IPL and for the first time in Chennai.

Ahead of the second Qualifier let's take a look at three players which are definitely worth watching out for.

SRH vs RR: Three Players to watch out for

1 . Travis Head

Travis Head vs RCB

Aussie and SRH opener Travis Head has taken the IPL by storm as he has amassed 533 runs at an outstanding average of 53 and a humongous strike rate of 199. His consistent performances at the top of the order provides firepower and stability to SRH which is crucial for chasing or setting big targets. However, the 30 year old has been dismissed for golden ducks in his last two games but we all know how dangerous Head has been this season and he will like to perform according to his usual standards against Rajasthan Royals and help his team qualify for the final.

2. Yuzvendra Chahal

IPL 2024: Three players whose India-carrier depends on IPL 2024 performance
Yuzvendra Chahal

Indian Premier League's highest wicket taker Yuzvendra Chahal is having an amazing IPL 2024 season as he has dismissed batters 18 times this season at an average of 28.44 and an economy rate of 9.48. He is a really dangerous bowler when conditions are favorable for spinners and Chepauk is known for assisting spinners so Chahal will be looking to exploit the spin friendly conditions and trouble the SRH batting lineup with his variations. Ending the IPL on a good note will be important for Chahal as he is a part of India's squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup as well.

3. Yashasvi Jaiswal

Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is an on and off IPL 2024 season. The youngster has scored a century this year against MI but he has failed to convert his starts into big innings in the majority of the games this season. However, in the eliminator against RCB, Jaiswal played a crucial inning of 45 runs in 30 balls and helped his team chase down the target of 173 runs easily. His form is going to be really important for Rajasthan Royals if they want to lift the IPL trophy for the second time in their history and Indian National Team would also like Jaiswal to end the IPL on a good note ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
