Defending champions England and Pakistan were strong contenders for the World Cup 2023, but at present, the path to qualification for both teams seems almost impossible.

According to the round-robin format, all the teams will play new matches where each team needs at least 12 points for qualification in the top-4.
England has played four matches in the tournament so far, in which the team has won only one. The defending champion still has to play five matches in the tournament. England will have to win all five of their remaining matches. England’s next matches are with teams like Sri Lanka, India, Australia, the Netherlands, and Pakistan. If England is successful in winning all its remaining matches, then in this situation, England will qualify for the World Cup 2023 at the fourth position.
