Rain Threat looms over Super 8 Fixtures in T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies | Weather Forecast in Super 8

Weather Forecast in Super 8: Rain has become a major talking point in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 after a string of matches resulted in a complete wash-out during the group stages. Three of the four matches scheduled in Florida were spoiled due to inclement weather, which also became a key reason for Pakistan's elimination from the event.

So far, at the end of the group stages, rain has impacted five fixtures in the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup with four of them being a complete wash-out.

Notably, there seems to be no respite in the unfavourable weather conditions as the tournament proceeds to the next round in the next few days. The weather forecast for the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 remains concerning with almost all matches having some chances of wash-out.

As many as 12 matches will be held in the Super 8 stage on the Caribbean island - Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua and St Vincent.

Weather Forecast in Super 8 T20 World Cup 2024

The Kensington Oval in Barbados is set to host three fixtures in the Super 8s all of them under the threat of rain. The forecast shows IND vs AFG fixture on June 20 to have 10-20 per cent rain. The remaining two matches have a forecast of over 50 per cent rain.

Interestingly, the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be staged at this venue, and it too has a 50 per cent chance of rain.

The forecast for the IND vs AUS clash on June 24 is also under the dark clouds as the forecast shows a 50 per cent chance of rain at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia. The other two fixtures at this venue may get away.

The Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua has a rain forecast of 20-25 per cent in all the Super 8 fixtures. Notably, the England vs Namibia match at this venue saw a 4-hour delay before a 10-over per side game could be possible a few days ago.

Even the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown has a forecast of approximately 50 per cent rain in the two Super 8 matches held here.
