Reports claim Rohit Sharma?s supposed move from MI to LSG ahead of IPL 2025|

For a long time, it has been speculated over the internet that Indian and Mumbai Indians veteran Rohit Sharma might leave his years-old franchise MI ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction.

Now recent reports from Sports Yaari suggest that Rohit is arguably the biggest target of the Lucknow Super Giants, and he might make a probable move to the LSG franchise before the upcoming edition.

The same report also claimed that this would help the Mumbai Indians get rid of their excess pressure on retention options, as Hardik Pandya might remain in the role of the MI captain in IPL 2025.

The report has also shed light that even Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Varma, alongside Suryakumar Yadav, India?s recently announced T20I skipper, are under his shed.

This has to be kept in mind that despite all this, all of this news is nothing but speculation, as nothing concrete or official has come from the end of either of the franchises.

Rohit Sharma: The inevitable skipper for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL

Rohit Sharma has this amazing record of being the most recognized captain in the history of the Indian Premier League, alongside legendary Indian ex-skipper and CSK veteran MS Dhoni.

Sharma joined the franchise from the Deccan Chargers back in 2011 and since then has been an inevitable part of the team. Rohit was given the captaincy, which was passed on to him from Harbhajan Singh, in 2013, and in his very first season as skipper, he came with astonishing results for the team.

Winning the title for the first time in 2013, Rohit has led the Mumbai Indians to 5 IPL titles in 2015, 2017, 2019, and finally in 2020. He remained the captain of the side till 2023; however, after the MI men suffered serious setbacks in seasons, the captaincy was passed onto Hardik Pandya, retaining Rohit as a marquee player.

Sharma has great figures in the competition, as he has scored 6628 runs in the competition in 257 matches, only behind the likes of Indian greats Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli. Sharma showed consistency in the last season as he was MI?s highest run-getter with 417 runs, striking at a massive 150, with a century added alongside his name.
