IPL 2021: Sam Curran to skip home test series for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

IPL 2021: England all-rounder Sam Curran on Monday said he might miss out on the England-New Zealand home test if Chennai Super Kings reaches the final, on May 30. The England vs New Zealand test series will begin on June 2 just after the wrap of the fourteenth edition of IPL.

Amidst the ongoing debate of England players choosing IPL over home test series, Sam Curran?s statement is like a reality check of the decisions.

?Obviously you have to see how the IPL tournament pans out, if you missed the qualifications I presume you?ll be most likely to be available for those Tests,? Curran told British media.

?But if CSK reaches final then the dynamics will be different. There is still plenty of time for this. We will have to figure it out and yeah fingers crossed,? said Sam Curran.

The all-rounder will join the England squad for the limited-over fixtures against India post which he will join MS Dhoni in the Indian T20 Tournament.

?It is a great tournament with high competition. Every young player wants to be here especially when ICC T20 World Cup later this year is at stake. It will be in India so we have to exploit these conditions well so that we can adjust ourselves for the World Cup.?

CSK had a forgetful event last year. The three-times champions could not enter the playoffs for the first time in the history of IPL.

However, there were players who expressed themselves for CSK and cemented their position in the franchise.

Sam Curran is one of them. In the 14 games, he picked 13 wickets and scored 186 runs with a half-century.

?That?s what I pride myself on? I feel like I can adjust to different situations, so wherever I bat or bowl and things like that, I?ll be trying to go out there and show my skills in different areas of the game. It?ll be a great opportunity for me to try and cement my place in the XI for the T20 World Cup.?
