Vivo IPL 2021: Shahrukh Khan apologises to fans after the humiliating defeat against Mumbai Indians.
Vivo IPL 2021: Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) produce a stellar fightback in the last five overs to steal the win from the jaws of defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last night in Chennai post which Shahrukh Khan apologises to all the fans of KKR for a poor display of performance by the players.
Bollywood King Shahrukh Khan took to his Twitter handle to apologise to all the fans for the humiliating defeat of his franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Mumbai Indians (MI). He wrote, "Disappointing performance. to say the least @KKRiders apologies to all the fans!"
Rohit Sharma?s Mumbai Indians were off the game from the start of the KKR innings when Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana started the chase. The game which looked done and dusted at one moment turned out to be a complete thriller and nail-biting competition which was eventually won by the outfits in Blues and Gold.
Mumbai Indians put up a below-par total of 152 runs in Chennai. Suryakumar Yadav smacked 56 off 36 while skipper Rohit Sharma scored 32 balls 43.
Andree Russell completely changed the momentum of the game in his last two overs of Mumbai Indians innings when he picked his first IPL fifer. He scalped back to back wickets and returned with a 5/15 figure.
Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana begin the heist for KKR and did well to end the power play. However, the dynamics changed when leggie Rahul Chahar was brought into the attack by skipper Rohit Sharma.
Chahar one by one picked four wickets in his four overs and brought back Mumbai Indians in the game. Krunal Pandya from the other end in his last two overs troubled the batters and didn?t let any easy run flow for KKR. To finish his spell, Krunal Pandya gave only 3 runs in the 18th over against the likes of Andree Russell and Dinesh Karthik.
At one point KKR required 30 runs of good 26 deliveries and were in complete control however this was not as easy as it looked for the Knight Riders.
While the death over specialist Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult did the rest of the work. In the penultimate over of KKR innings, Bumrah gave mere 4 runs and 15 runs were needed off Trent Boult?s last over.
The kiwi experienced pacer again proved why he is best in the business in world cricket. Boult provided a twin strike in the last over to get rid of Andree Russell and Pat Cummins in two consecutive balls and seal the game for his side.
Mumbai Indian won the match by 10 runs and opened their account in the IPL 2021 campaign.
