IPL 2024: Discomfort for Mumbai Indians (MI) has risen significantly after a few of their players are carrying injury concerns ahead of the seventeenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the latest development, star batter Suryakumar Yadav has put Mumbai Indians (MI) into the backfoot following his fitness-related issues.
Suryakumar Yadav, who is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), is yet to receive clearance from the medical team to take part in the Tata IPL 2024. The batter suffered the sports hernia injury during the tour of South Africa last year. He subsequently underwent a surgery in Germany.
As of now, Suryakumar Yadav is recovering and recuperating at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Although the batter has begun training in the nets, he is yet to be declared fit by the BCCI.
A source privy to the development informed that the batter will undergo an open net session on Tuesday along with some fielding drills. All this will be done under the watch of the medical team at the NCA.
The Mumbai batter’s body will be accessed thereafter depending upon which the medical team will prepare the report. If the batter undergoes all these activities without any discomfort then he will have a good chance of playing in the IPL 2024, however, if there’s any concern, then he will have to keep himself distanced from the league.
Mumbai Indians are set to play their opening game in the Tata IPL 2024 on March 24. Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans (GT) will be up against Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium for the opening clash.
IPL 2024: Suryakumar Yadav post a cryptic Instagram Story
Suryakumar Yadav has taken his fans and supporters on a toss after he posted a cryptic Instagram story on Tuesday. He posted a broken heart emoji on his Instagram story.
The rumours say that the batter could miss some portion of the IPL, which is why he put up the Instagram story as frustration, however, we shall wait for the official confirmation from the BCCI as well as Mumbai Indians (MI).
It’s worth noting that Mumbai Indians (MI) have already lost Jason Behrendorff ahead of the IPL 2024 due to an injury. The Aussie pacer will no longer take part in the IPL 2024. MI have called in Luke Wood as the replacement pacer in the side for the upcoming season.
Dilshan Madushanka is another pacer who is quite vulnerable on the side and is likely to miss the Tata IPL 2024.
