WI vs SA: Rovman Powell-led West Indies (WI) are set to lock horns against Aiden Markram-led South Africa (RSA) in a three-match T20 International series with the first match set to take place on the 23rd, 25th, and 27th of August. All three games of the series will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy Stadium of Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago. All the games will start at 12:30 am IST.
In the recently concluded two-match test series, the Proteas reigned supreme as the won clinched the series by securing a win in the second test match and the Windies would be looking to avenge their test series defeat by whitewashing the visitors in the upcoming T20 International series.
The Windies have looked in a really good nick in the shortest format of the game having won four of their last five T20 International bilateral-series. However, the Rovman Powell-led team suffered a painful defeat in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024 as they lost a thrilling super over super eight match against South Africa and got eliminated.
South Africa on the other hand was on a winning streak in the 2024 T20 World Cup but in the final against India, they too suffered a heartbreaking defeat which ended their hopes of lifting their first-ever ICC Trophy.
This series kicks off the 2026 T20 World Cup preparations for both the teams and it promises to be a really exciting one as well.
