World Test Championship (WTC) Points Table: South Africa further slips down to the fourth position in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Points Table after suffering an unassailable 2-0 defeat against Australia. The mighty Aussies continued their one-sided domination at home as they hammered the Proteas by an innings and 182 runs in the second test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). 



The Proteas boasted of having a daunting pace attack, but that count for nothing if their batters can't put up a show and give the bowlers a fair chance to be a part of the contest. In the first innings, the South African batters were wrapped in mere 189 runs total all thanks to the handy half-century knocks from Kyle Verreyenne and Marco Jansen.



In response to an underwhelming total, Australian batters wreaked havoc and piled up 575 runs before declaring the innings. Opener David Warner redeemed himself in his 100th test with a classy double ton while Alex Carey slammed his maiden century in red-ball cricket.



In the second innings, South Africa did nothing better as they were once again packed by the Aussies at a score of 204. Temba Bavuma was the only batter who crossed 50 runs mark in the innings and helped South Africa breach 200 run mark.



Australia now have a safe lead of 2-0 in the three-match test series. South Africa will look to bounce back in the final test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and perform some salvage work in order to avoid embarrassment. Meanwhile, the hosts will back themselves for a complete whitewash in the third test.

Australia strengthened its first position in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Points Table with a 78.57 win percentage following a 2-0 lead against South Africa. Meanwhile, South Africa slips down to the fourth place with two consecutive losses against Australia. The Protea stands at number four with a win percentage of 50.



The second place is currently occupied by team India with a 58.93 win percentage owing to the domination shown in Bangladesh. India has a four-match test series against Australia at the home as their final assignment in the ICC WTC 2023. The home side will back itself to win the contest and make a place for themselves with a good margin.



Sri Lanka has managed a firm hold in the third position with a 53.33 win percentage after playing five test series in the cycle. Meanwhile, the fifth, sixth and seventh positions are occupied by England, West Indies and Pakistan respectively. All of them are already out of ICC WTC's final contention.

The Broadcast of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has just released its team squad ahead of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023. The final match will be played against Australia at The Oval, London, from 7th ? 11th June 2023.



Australia finished as the number 1 team on the Points table of the WTC. Australia played 19 Games, won 11, lost three and ended five matches in a draw. While India had its journey to make it to the WTC Final for the second time, qualifications for the finals had two possibilities of making it to the finals. The first was to defeat Australia 2-1 in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, and the second depended on the Former WTC Winners, New Zealand. Had Sri Lanka made a clean sweep of New Zealand in their home, India?s chances of qualification would have been caught in trouble.

Team India to wear Adidas Jersey in ICC WTC 2023 Final: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) established a multi-year partnership with the apparel tycoons Adidas on May 23, 2023, thus Team India will soon be donning a brand-new uniform with the Adidas emblem sticking out boldly on their shirts.



The brand-new cricket jersey for Team India is out. On June 7 at the Oval, Rohit Sharma and company will compete in the WTC Final 2023 against Australia wearing new Adidas jerseys. Adidas and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have signed a five-year agreement that will end in March 2028.



The deal, which is valued at 350 crore rupees ($70), has not received any formal confirmation. In the currently ongoing fourth Test-Match of the 2024-25 Border Gavaskar Trophy between Australia and India in Melbourne, elite Indian batter Virat Kohli collided with 19-year-old Australian debutant Sam Konstas. A video of this incident is going viral on social media platforms. 
A heated argument took place between the two players on the field and the umpires were forced to intervene and cool down the situation. In such a situation, during the 11th over while cleaning the ball, Kohli was moving towards Konstas and at that point of time, both of them collided with each other as the former Indian skipper clashed his shoulder with the youngster. <h2>What do the rules of ICC say? </h2>
According to the rulebook of the ICC, article 2.1 states that a player can be punished if he gets involved in inappropriate physical-contact with a opposition player, support staff of the players, match-referee, umpires or any other person on the Cricket field. 
Such incidents have happened before in the past and considering the history of such incidents, Virat will not be getting harsh punishment like a one-match suspension or ban. However, the match-referee can definitely give the 35-year-old a demerit point and a deduction in his match-fee as a punishment.
